Kuda is the pastor of Emerald Hill Community Church and together they serve in many ministries of their local church, including outreach, discipleship, and teaching.
As missionaries with Community Vision International, Kuda and Ruth run Kuvamba, a program that seeks to transform the lives of at-risk youth through education and discipleship. After many years of working with children in the streets of Harare, they now work to prevent homelessness through education and family engagement. In Zimbabwe, education is not free and many families struggle to pay their children's tuition. Children often start school late, attend sporadically, or are forced to drop out of school when tuition cannot be paid, Helping children attend school can break the cycle of poverty and have a lasting transformative impact on children's lives.
Through Kuvamba, Ruth and Kuda founded Rock Hill Tutoring Center in a rural farming community just outside Harare to reach at-risk kids who otherwise would not be able to attend school. Ruth teaches kindergarten at Rock Hill and develops a unique curriculum while Kuda serves as the principal, engaging with parents and discipling families. The center is donor-funded through scholarships for individual students. Kuvamba also sponsors children from low-income families who attend school in other rural communities throughout Zimbabwe.
